Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

We love when our smoothies are packed with a healthy punch. We decided to give this blend and extra kick by added turmeric, ginger and flax meal.  Along with our signature KOYAH kale powder and a few other choice ingredients.

We love turmeric, it's a powerful spice. Being an antioxidant booster along with a natural anti-inflammatory agent. We feel this yellowish ingredient is a must when it comes to adding extra health benefits to this recipe. 

Ginger is one of the healthiest and most delicious spices on the planet. (we might be biased with the spicy ginger flavor) Its loaded with nutrients and is closely related to turmeric. Making it another anti-inflammatory ingredient. Ginger is effective with helping fight nausea. If you're dealing with morning sickness you should include ginger into your daily smoothie.  

The next super ingredient we added to this mix is flax meal. High in Omega-3 Fatty Acids which is great for inflammation. Omega-3's are essential fats, the body can't make them so getting them in your food is clutch. 

We of course added a scoop of our KOYAH kale.  It's high in fiber, helps aids in digestion and is filled with so many nutrients, vitamins, folate and magnesium. 
We topped of this blend with 1/4 lemon, 1 banana and 1 apple. All great additions to any smoothie recipe. They help with flavor along with positive health benefits. 

In your blender add: 

1 scoop KOYAH kale
1 apple
1 banana
1 small piece ginger
1/4 lemon
1/2-1 tbsp flax meal
1 tsp turmeric
1 cup water
